caffeinated beverage day!

Yesterday was coffee day, so to take full advantage of this amazing day, I got some coffee!!  

Declaimer-- I don't actually drink coffee, so instead i got an apple blast.  Had to get that off my chest.

fall fashion week: day 4

Okay, so I missed day 3.  But I'm claiming that on a college road trip (for my 2nd year.)

My converse are a staple in everything I wear, and they show it.  So to help in the wear and tear of my beloved shoes, I'm getting some Toms!  I haven't decided on a color, thinking gray would be good cause it goes with just about everything!

I also turned in my first college paper today!  Oh the joys of growing up, still haven't decide if I like it or not.

Fall fashion week: day 2

This is what happens when I let time slip away from me, I end up posting bad quality pictures at night.  Yikes, I'm promising myself that I will not let this happen again, at least this week!

Today was a plaid shirt, converse and messy bun type of day.  I like those type of days the best!

 Littleman wanted in on the photography too.

 

Yeah he's pretty cute, he's finally able to say key my name.  Well it's more like "Heene"  but it works for me!

Fall fashion week: day 1

Fall fashion week starts today! I'm very excited to be joining something like this, it will definitely be a learning experience.  

Here's day 1

What the heck am I supposed to do with my hands, they're just so awkward!  Haha, well it's a learning experience right?!

Today went a little like this..  

My science professor could have been lecturing in a different language for all I know.  Not good considering I have my 1st quiz next week ahhh, I left class feeling pretty discouraged and mentally beating myself up. [yeah sometimes I do that]

But I'm taking a deep breath and trying to regroup!

Like my little headband?  I was knitting a cowl and I had a big oops moments, so I pulled everything out and started again!  This is what remains of my 1st cowl which is now a headband wrap!

-- Forgetting why I went upstairs only to come downstairs and remember, up and down I go.

-- Needing assistance at the self check out, and the store employee is someone I know.  But it's one of those weird things, like you sort of know each other but you've never talked type of thing.  So do I say hi?  Or not say anything???

-- Having someone rev their engine while I'm crossing the road at school.  Thanks for the compliment immature boy who needs to grow up, but now I'm going to take my good old time crossing the road.  Oh community college.

-- Discussing an essay in class that deals with certain human body parts.  Please floor open up and swallow me NOW!

-- The crisp fall breeze that has me rummaging through my closet for my boots!  (need to clean that thing more often)

-- Having an amazing mom who is willing to try crazy new recipes, thai is on the menu crossed fingers that it's good!

-- Watching Littleman experience new things for the 1st time.  I love seeing the world unfold before his eyes.

-- Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!  The icing on the cupcake.

"not me" Monday

        

• I most certainly did not dance in the rain, when a late summer shower rolled through my neck of the woods this afternoon, nope not I.

• I never would allow Littleman to walk around with a little purple purse just for laughs.  He didn't see anything wrong with it, just something to carry his little trucks in.

• I did not want to yell in pain at the dental hygienist who was most certainly not brutality trying to chisel away my teeth.

• I most certainly did not finish all my assigned homework for the day before this afternoon. {happy dance}

•  I most certainly am not enjoying this book. Seriously every woman needs to read it, that good!

• And I most certainly do not always rock the pulled back bun (it's called the study power hair)

9/11

Our lives would never be the same.

We would come out changed.

September 11th 2001, forever engraved in our hearts and minds,

I was 8 years old, in the back seat riding to dance class
when the day forever changed.

I remember Dad calling my Mom and

telling her something had happened in New York City.

To this day I can still remember hearing the anxiousness

in my Mom's voice.   I could only hear one side

of the conversation, but from what I heard
 I knew it wasn't good.

I remember seeing all the moms

huddled around a little TV in the dance studio, 

pure silence as they watched our world under attack.  

Once we got back home

the Tv was on as soon as we entered the door.
I couldn't really grasp was what happening,
but I knew it was something significant.

Something that would change our nation,
and change our view of September 11th forever.




We have overcome much,
but in order to move forward;
we must look back and remember where we have come.

My thoughts and prayers go out to our nation today

as we remember that fateful day 10 years ago,

when an ordinary day turned into

a day that would mark our nation forever.

My latest journal wrecking.  Yes that is a stick you see, why is it there?  Well that would be a diy yet to happen 4 months waiting to happen. Oh and I love my aqua converse and my bamboo in an Izze glass.

Something about a blank page gets me excited (especially when I have colored pens)

Fairygirl wanted her little hand traced too, so why not!  I love how dramatic the comparison is between our hands.  Those little fingers won't always be that little.

I have to confess, now that school has officially started.  I'm ready for fall.  Ready for red leaves on trees, ready for the crunch they make under my feet.  Ready for trips to the cider mill with hot cider in hand.

September is here!

The last few days of summer are here.  I'm not sure if I should shed a tear or pull out my jeans and boots and hit the cider mill!  

My first class for the fall started today, it's a 4 hours long class...  not very fun at 8:30 in the morning.  It felt so weird walking back out my car, and it was summer.  Still got the flip flops, still got the indian summer heat, and still got the glorious sunshine!  

But, soon this summer will be a distant memory, trying to soak everything up while I still can.  Before, fall coats, flannel and blue jeans take over my wardrobe (which I don't really mind)
