2011, looking back

2011 had many moments:
moments of joy, accomplishment, hardship, friendship, loneliness and self-doubt.  By themselves these specific moments aren't significant, but combined they stretched me more then I ever imagined.  My self confidence has greatly changed, my comfortability around people has increased, and a willingness to try new things has come out of no where!

They seemed like unexpected changes to me, but not to God.  He knew what he was doing all along, the nights when all I could do was write, because nothing else was working.  He knew.  Those agonizing days of class.  He knew.  Unexpected friendships. He knew.  In the Word with an unique group of women.  He knew.  Reoccurring heart ache. He knew.

None of this was unexpected to Him, when others didn't know or weren't informed, He was.  Never leaving me through the hard moments.  At times I've questioned what His plan is, but I've realized it's something I don't need to know, because He's got it all figured out.

I hold strong to the truth that He knows better then I as 2012 begins.

Here's to you 2011.

check this out!

Ahhh!!!  Can they please just get married and make pretty music forever?!  2011 year review coming sometime tomorrow or the next!

The Hunger Games

Alright..  I am officially going to start reading the Hunger Games!  I've already got some pretty high expectations for this series, just from all the positive feedback from everyone.  Hope Hunger Games doesn't disappoint.. But I'm pretty sure it won't!

Yes I'm wearing reading glasses (these baby blues get tired); yes this is a no makeup picture (you do not want to enlarge) and yes those are sweater wearing Chihuahuas on my pants (cause I'm awesome like that.)

Tomorrow is Christmas

Today's Christmas Eve!!  Hard to believe it's here already, seems like just yesterday I was standing in line on Black Friday outside of Target.

This season I'm trying not to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, instead focus on my family and create new memories along the way.  Sometimes they may drive me a little stir crazy, but then I remember this too will be just a distant memory soon.

Next year I could be away at a University instead of studying local, not able to fully live life with them day in and out.  The little moments when Fairygirl tells me she doesn't want me to ever get married, but be her big sister forever.
Whispered conversations with Soccergirl about boys at midnight, wouldn't be possible through Skype.
And morning belly laughs with Littleman can't happen away at College.

The time will come when I will go away to College, but not now.  Instead I'm going to soak up every moment I can, including Christmas Eve; tonight when we dawn our new Christmas pajamas, my heart may ache but at the same time, thankful for extra time spent together.

Ugly sweaters are everywhere! (photo heavy)

Yep, you guessed it!  An ugly sweater party was had, plus a white elephant exchange and a photo booth was thrown in for good measure.  Great fun!

Our lovely photo booth, the tinsel adds to the tackiness

 Photo booth OVERLOAD!!

Awkward family picture? Yes!

I wore my christmas socks with pride

BTJ4A

To celebrate the end of the semester the Girls and I decided to live it up!  We attend a 100% hipster concert, some pretty sweet tunes were played, plus the proceeds went towards feeding children in Africa.  After traveling to Kenya two years ago, there is no cause closer to my heart!

Bathroom pictures are a must with bright lime green walls. :)

Man do I have some gorgeous girlfriends!

Christmas sprinkles {photo overload}

This weekend sugar cookies were made!

Nothing says Christmas like the smell of fresh sugar cookies

Little Man was entranced, so many yummy things to eat!

Fairygirl was very meticulous about decorating her lovely cookies.

Good start to the Christmas season!
Our Christmas tree went up this afternoon, only problem, our lights ran out.  We now have a half lit tree in our family room.
