Final project for my into to film class, by far my FAVORITE class ever!!  After classes on Thursday night, as I would make the thirty minute drive home, my head would be exploding with endless creative possibilities.
I have fallen in love with film, there's just something about manually capturing your photograph, developing your negatives, and then enlarging the photo just so.  If only photo labs and enlarging paper were cheaper, I don't think I would ever head back to the digital world.

I've not only started dappling in film but also in manual, ekk!

Going Old School..

With this beauty, I got the Fujifilm Instax Wide Camera!  I was so excited when I got it for my birthday (plenty of hints had been dropped let me tell you :)

I was just a little giddy with my first picture, can't wait to add to my collection!

Princess Hair and Procrastinating Math Homework

Today while I was babysitting, the Little Miss was very set on adding everything princess to my hair, needless to say when she was through my hair was a complete mess.  I decided rather then trying and untangling I'd just try and throw it in a braid.  Even though I have no idea how to braid, I was willing to give it a shot, hoping for the best.  What do you know!  I can braid my own hair!!  One more thing to cross that off my 25 things checklist! (Only took eighteen years.)

Kisses from Katie book review

   When Kisses from Katie came out this fall I was beyond excited, I was elated, I wanted nothing more then to get my hands on that book!  But being a college student, and a poor one at that, I knew I probably wouldn't get my hands on a copy till Christmas, and I was right!

   I finished this book within 24 hours, I loved it.  I was glued to the book, I cried and laughed all within the first few pages.  It's easy to place people on pedestals, but Katie makes it perfectly clear.  She's not any different then us, she has just responded to God's Word.

   Her love for Christ is inspiring, she left everything and traveled to a country where she only knew one person.  A year long commitment turned into a lifetime adventure.  She carries courage that I can only dream about.

   

   I knew before I started reading that this book was going to make me want to drop everything and move to Africa.  I was right...  Don't really know when it will happen, but God has been laying Africa on my heart again and again recently that I know it will happen all in His perfect timing.  I'm really excited at the hope of traveling to Uganda and being in Africa again, but all the current unknowns are a little intimidating right now I'm just trying to respond in faith.

Yep, you guessed it!  An ugly sweater party was had, plus a white elephant exchange and a photo booth was thrown in for good measure.  Great fun!

Sparkle, sparkle

I went on Monday night, all by myself and got my nose pierced.  I was pretty nervous going by myself, but I'm glad I did.  Not something I could have done earlier this year, cool to see the personal growth.

Have you seen the official Hunger Games trailer?  Looks interesting, maybe I'll read the books before my avid Hunger Game reader, sister drags me to the theater.

So yeah, just some exciting little happenings!

1st 5k completed

Finished my 1st 5k this weekend!  At most some parts I thought my chest was going to give out on me, but I still crossed that finish line!  It felt amazing to accomplish something I had set out to do.  I may be strangely, oddly, thinking of the next 5k I'll participate in!

Another thing crossed off my 25 things list!   

1st pair of Toms

I love getting packages in the mail, there is just something about snail mail that you can't replace.

Today I received my first pair of Toms!

I had heard about Toms before, you buy a pair of shoes and a child in third world

country receives a pair because of you.  I was skeptical, but while I was in Haiti I saw many little children wearing Toms, children who other wise would have been barefoot.  Knowing that when I bought a pair of Toms I'm saving a child from foot sours and infection, nothing can get better then that!

When ever I get new shoes I love wondering where they will take me. What new journeys will I experience while wearing these shoes, call me crazy but I get excited when I think of it!
