the result of an extended weekend

I did a wall make-over in my bedroom!  I've wanted to create a full wall collage for a while, but I didn't really know how i wanted it done.  When I found a wall collage on pinterest that didn't seem too hard, didn't require weird tools and looks pretty quick I knew it was for me!  I rolled up my sleeves, pulled out the hammer and went to town!

This is what had been staring at me every time I'd enter the room, just screaming for something new.

Notice the following: 1) project took all afternoon 2) my bed got increasingly messier as the project continued  3) and I used a tape measure, and hammer correctly, yeah!  Thanks Dad for teaching this girl how to comfortably handle tools.

I love the fact that even though the twine is semi permanent, the pictures can be swapped in and out as much as I want. I won't constantly have to redo my whole wall, just take down a paper clip and change the picture!

26 days!

Can you believe that Christmas is in 26 DAYS!!!  I can't get used to just how fast this year is flying by!  Even though it isn't December yet, I'm ready to get in the Christmas spirit!

Last night was the annual downtown shops Christmas light reveal!  Got together with friends and headed out with our cameras in tow.

Little library bathroom detour before we hit the streets!  Couldn't pass up a classic mirror picture, complete with diva poses.

Christmas excitement, even the rain couldn't stomp out our excitement! 

Love driving through downtown at Christmas time, so pretty with each individual building a different color.

Even though we were soaked (yep, that's rain not snow) a good time was had by all!

Can't believe Thanksgiving is already behind us!  My family had our own little Thanksgiving dinner, complete with turkey, stuffing and all the trimings!  My favorite food had to be the chocolate silk pecan pie.  Love pecan pie and chocolate, but combined..  yummy!

Unfortunately this is the only picture I took on Thanksgiving, what can I say.  I was a little busy stuffing my face of Thanksgiving yummy goodness. 

vulnerability

Recently God has been whispering something new in my heart, vulnerability.

  

I've always kept myself protected, never wanting to rejected by the people I care about.  My fears of rejection paralyzed me, friendships didn't progress any further then surface level.  

God has started revealing to me just how refreshing it can be when I become vulnerable.  

It's been a slow process, I'm just starting to semi see the results and already I'm blown away.

On Thanksgiving 2011, I'm extra thankful for the uncomfortable moments that further relationships, stretching, shaping me into the woman God created me to be. Vulnerability.

Yesterday this girl turned 15!!  Since when did my little sister become old enough to be 15?  Feels like she was just turning double digits, now she's only one year away from sweet 16!  

Happy Birthday, girl who is growing up way to fast!  You are loved.

new look!  Took me long enough, started to feel trapped with in html talk!  Everything is fresh and new now!  Now I'm off to finish writing a final paper for Tuesday.  Can't believe some classes are already finishing!

Sparkle, sparkle

I went on Monday night, all by myself and got my nose pierced.  I was pretty nervous going by myself, but I'm glad I did.  Not something I could have done earlier this year, cool to see the personal growth.

Have you seen the official Hunger Games trailer?  Looks interesting, maybe I'll read the books before my avid Hunger Game reader, sister drags me to the theater.

So yeah, just some exciting little happenings!

1st 5k completed

Finished my 1st 5k this weekend!  At most some parts I thought my chest was going to give out on me, but I still crossed that finish line!  It felt amazing to accomplish something I had set out to do.  I may be strangely, oddly, thinking of the next 5k I'll participate in!

Another thing crossed off my 25 things list!

This little fella was created during my english professor's thirty minute rabbit trail on government...  oh dear...  Needless to say this new fella feels right at home with literature.  He now needs a name, any suggestions??

Yes he was created while under the influence of boredom.

Haven't done one of these in a while, blowing the dust off the old cassettes.

This song is a must during my morning workout.  I could keep this song on repeat all day long, and then never want to hear it again. One of those songs that you love while listening to it, but after a few repeats you're ready for something else, still love it just the same!
