Day 7 of Thankfulness

Today I'm thankful for that giddy, happy, excited feeling that sometimes will jump in your heart.
You know what I'm talking about it will come suddenly and leave you with a smile on your face that lasts all day.  I sometimes think that's God's way of dropping a secret little kiss on my check to remind me just how special I am.  God's little kisses sent right from heaven.

Day 6 of Thankfulness

Today I'm thankful for my family.  Yes, sometimes we argue.  But these are the people who truly know me best.  They are the ones whom I turn to for counsel and advise.  And sometimes just for a laugh or two.  These are the people God has blessed me with, who have helped shape me into what I am.  Without them life wouldn't have the flavor and spark that I love.

The neat thing about our family is sometimes we have little kiddos live with us for a certain period of time while their birth parents sort things out.  It's hard seeing them leave but there are so many fond memories made along the way.  This is one aspect of my family that I love.  These little kids are forever in my family even after they leave.

Day 3, 4 and 5 of Thankfulness

Alright, so I feel behind.  But I'm getting caught up with one giant thankful post!

Prosperity.  Something that mostly everyone in America is privilege to.  Most of the time we don't even know it, I didn't but then my eyes were opened.

Two summers ago I went on a mission trip to Kenya.  I thought I knew what poverty looked like.  I was wrong.  These people had hardly anything.  The women travel for miles just to receive a few gallons of water each day. Just for one day!  The next day they have to do it all over again.  They try to grow food, but to no avail because they are in a sever drought.  So severe that in order to dig for water they must go down fifty feet and deeper just to possibly tape water.  And here I am with a clean glass of water within arms reach whenever I want it.  I don't have to put forth any effort.  Just turn a handle.

a new well digging in process, so deep you can't see the bottom from this angle

Are these people ungrateful?  Ready to turn their backs on God?  No.  These people have such joy and hope for the future.  They have faith in God to provide for their everyday needs and He does.  And they thank Him for it with everything they have.

So these past few days I've been thankful for the food and clean water that I have access to.  God has blessed my family with so much.  Now I'm challenging you along with myself to seek ways to bless others with what we have been blessed with.

Day 2 of Thankfulness

Today I'm thankful for the little moments.  Sometimes life is just pure craziness.  But God knows how to pull us back with moments like this...

They force you to slow down and relish in the little things.  They help you rearrange your priorities.  These are the moments that you'll look back on and smile.  Not the expensive trips to Disney Land, but the little everyday moments like reading Goodnight Moon with two sleepy little girls.  These are the moments you live for.  Cherish life.

Day 1 of Thankfulness

Today I'm thankful for the hard times.  You know the ones, their hard when your in the midst but looking back you realize without them you wouldn't be the person you are today.  So thank you hard times.
You've opened my eyes to others.  Showed me who I really am.  Given me more self-confidence then I could have every imagined.  I'm thankful to God for reveling who I truly am through Him and  the fun part? I'm still discovering!

So what are YOU thankful for?  There are so many thing we as American take for granted.  Look around and you'd be surprised to see just how richly blessed we truly are.

A Week of Thankfulness Coming Your Way

Thanksgiving is this Thursday, I can't believe it!  Last thing I remember it was Halloween and candy was coming out of my ears.  Now Thanksgiving is peaking around the corner and turkey and cranberries are threatening to take over my kitchen!
To help me get ready for Thanksgiving each day of the week I'll post something that I'm thankful for.  Want to join me?

What We are Made to Be

Lily White.

We were made to be this.

 Beautiful.

 Pure.

Innocent of the blemished world around us.

Full of life.

This is what our Creator made us to be.
His Beloved.
His Chosen.
Live it out for Him.
