Today US. Tomorrow Haiti!

The day is right around the corner!  This time tomorrow I will be Haiti bound.  God's peace has been constantly washing over me.  Thank you for your prayers! 


Just alittle glimpse into what weather Hait is having.  Looks like I'll be leaving 40 degree weather and stepping into hot, hot and hot.  This girl doesn't mind at all.

Less than three days till Haiti! 

God has been working and moving in my heart.  My anxiety concerning dynamics gone.  My anxiety over leadership gone.  My anxiety involving travel gone.  God has filled me with His peace and excitement for this new journey!  Friday can't come soon enough.

The only thing standing in the way is packing.  The big mongo suitcase has been located, clothes are being laid out. It has now come down to check list time!

lists

I'm a list type of girl.  I love checking things off.  Taking something that I feel is out of control and making it organized.  Lists give me a sense of accomplishment.  Haiti has been no exception.  Plenty of lists have been made, and with each check of the box my heart slows down it's frantic pulse. 

God has slowly but surly been replacing my anxiety with excitement!

Haiti countdown

This time next week I will be getting ready to embark on a journey to Haiti!  Excited and anxious are the two top emotions running through my heart right now.  I'm praying on the evening of April 1st the only emotion will be excitement for what God has in store!

My prayer

My Haiti trip is right around the corner and I'm anxious.  Anxious of the different dynamics. Anxious over the details. Anxious of the travel.  Anxious of just about everything. 

On my first 'big' mission trip it was an amazing journey.  I have never experienced anything like it before.  I had great teammates, great leadership, and jaw dropping experiences with God. 

I'm worried my Haiti mission trip won't measure up.  I feel like nothing would compare to what happened in Kenya.  But I want something amazing to happen in Haiti as well, I want this trip to be a life changer.  A week of my life that I can look back on and say God shaped me.

Then I realise Haiti and Kenya are so different but they both contain an important thing.  Different people, different country, different circumstances yes.  But they both contain God's presence, He was moving and breathing in Kenya and He is moving and breathing in Haiti.

My prayer leading up to April 1st is that I would catch a glimpse of Him while on this trip.  Nothing else will matter,  all I want is a glimpse of God's work in Haiti.  Now I just need to take a deep breath and rest in His peace.  He has something amazing in store, I just don't know it yet.

Kenya and Haiti so different but God is present in both.

It's bath time and Fairygirl is looking for some giggly fun.  I have a choice to make, just go through the motions of bathtime or create memories.  There was extra water around the tube tonight, but I didn't care.  My little sister had a magical, belly laughing bath time because I chose to make a mess and enjoy the little moments.
